Newgrove House
Care Home
Staff
We believe that the staff at Newgrove are friendly, efficient and excellent in holistic caring. The Team Leaders are all very experienced and of the Team Leaders have NVQ Level 3 qualifications. All new staff have to undertake the 12 week induction program as defined by the Care Quality Commission, our regulatory authority. All our staff are trained to the defined mandatory standards with most having more than the mandatory training. We encourage all our care staff to train to at least NVQ level II.
There is a Team Leader on duty at Newgrove 24 hours, 7 days a week, and other members of care staff on during the day and three at nighttimes. Depending on occupancy levels the number of care staff is increased when needed.
We are very proud of our staff because, they get to know all our residents very well and are able to care for them in every way, encouraging, prompting, reassuring, listening & helping them where necessary with personal care, any problems & giving any other assistance that may be required.
In addition to the care staff there are committed domestic staff to do the "housework" & “laundry Service” they are very important for infection control & general cleanliness & hygiene, and two excellent cooks that take care of all the dietary needs of the residents including special diets, nutritious food, & the making of the yummy cakes & deserts. All of the staff get to know our residents very well and each resident is assigned a key worker. It is their task to communicate with the resident, relaying their needs & changed needs back to other members of staff and really this becomes a friendship & trust between the resident, their relatives and the home.
